Bridging the Gaps Through Music and Song
Longtime musician friends unite acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, drums, harmonica, and button accordion to uplift audiences and raise thousands for cancer patients at Daffodil Place.
Overpass is a group of longtime musician friends who perform to raise money for charity. All members are vocalists as well as musicians, supported by a number of dedicated subs who help keep everything running smoothly. We charge a modest fee for performances, and 100% of that fee—along with all audience donations—goes directly to Daffodil Place, a residence in St. John’s for cancer patients undergoing treatment!
Overpass’ style is one of music and storytelling, playing a variety of country, folk, traditional, classic rock, original, and gospel music. The sound is a rich combination of acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, drums, harmonica, keys, and sometimes button accordion.
The name Overpass is inspired by the familiar Kenmount Road overpass in St. John’s—a landmark where different roads and communities meet. For us, it stands as a symbol of friends and neighbours coming together from all around to create something genuinely good.
An overpass also represents a path over an obstacle: think of the old railway bridges and trestles that carried travellers safely across deep rivers and gorges. In the same spirit, Overpass hopes its music and stories offer comfort, connection, and a little uplift to anyone in the audience who may be facing a difficult road.
100% of Our Fee Goes to Charity
